چکیده

The Indonesian government has allocated the 3.3-3.4 GHz band, which is adjacent to the extended Cband 3.4-3.7 GHz, for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) services. The country has been using the extended C-band for Fixed Satellite Service (FSS). This research shows the interference potential between the two systems if an adjacent band is allocated for them. Using a clutter loss of 10 dB and site shielding of 40 dB, a BWA network consisting of 57 base-stations will potentially intefere an FSS with probability 56.16% if the protection distance used is 1.55 km. The interference potential will decrease to 0% if the protection distance is increased to 3 km. With a BWA network consisting of 20 base-stations, the interference probability is 10.72% and 0% for a protection distance of 1.55 km and 2 km, respectively. With this interference potential it is urgent that Indonesia enforces interference mitigation techniques to protect FSS from disruptive interference.

Spectrum Database for Coexistence of Terrestrial Fs and Fss Satellite Systems in the 17.7-19.7 Ghz Band

In this article we develop a database-based spectrum access for the Ka band, allowing fixed satellite services (FSS) receivers to coexist with the terrestrial fixed services (FS) system, thus increasing the downlink capacity of the satellite system. The main focus of this paper is to study FS interference to FSS user terminal receivers in the 17.7-19.7 GHz band as the interference from FSS to F...

Frequency Band Sharing between Satellite and Terrestrial Fixed Links in the Ka Band

Broadband access by satellite in the Ka band is currently constrained by spectrum availability. Cognitive radio has emerged as a promising paradigm to improve the spectrum usage efficiency and cope with spectrum scarcity problems through dynamically detecting and re-allocating white spaces in licensed (incumbent) radio band to unlicensed (cognitive) users. In this context, the EU FP7 project Co...

Resource Allocation for Cognitive Satellite Uplink and Fixed-Service Terrestrial Coexistence in Ka-Band

This paper addresses the cognitive Geostationary Orbit (GSO) satellite uplink where satellite terminals reuse frequency bands of FixedService (FS) terrestrial microwave links which are the incumbent users in the Ka 27.5-29.5 GHz band. In the scenario considered herein, the transmitted power of the cognitive satellite user has to ensure that the interference impact on potentially present FS link...

Equalization Requirement Study For Broadband MMDS Wireless Access Systems

Dependent upon terrain and land use, the propagation characteristics of fixed broadband wireless access (BWA) channels can vary from Ricean through to Rayleigh (ie, from line of sight (LOS) to non-line of sight (NLOS) operation). The delay spreads associated with such channels can be detrimental when high data rates are considered. To combat the inter symbol interference (ISI) induced by these ...

Therapeutic Effect of Co-Administration of Amantadine and Aspirin on Fatigue in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis: A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Double-Blind Study

Fatigue is recognized as one of the most disabling and frequent symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS). Amantadine appears to have some proven ability to alleviate the fatigue in MS. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of co-administration of amantadine and aspirin for the treatment of fatigue in multiple sclerosis. Forty-five ambulatory patients aged 20–50 years with a diagnosis of M...
